Yair Sheleg writes in Haaretz today about the remnant Jewish community of Bulawayo (the town in which I was born and spent the first nineteen years of my life). The community’s present condition expresses in microcosm the travails of Zimbabwe more generally. According to the rabbi there, however, there is hardly any anti-Semitism and relations between Jews and Muslims in the town are good. (Hat tip: Jeff Abramowitz.)
