If there is one thing that has been proved beyond reasonable doubt, it’s that the BBC was innocent of these charges.
So says Richard Eyre of the accusation of ‘coordinated and systemic bias against the government’ over the Iraq war. For my part I’m happy to take out both ‘coordinated’ and ‘systemic’, but so far as just plain ‘bias’ is concerned, I’d love to know where he gets ‘proved beyond reasonable doubt from’. All he cites is the Cardiff study, but that has been put in question by others. (See the post about this on my old site, The Cardiff team’s feeling for Snow – September 30). Just saying it over and again doesn’t make it so.
