Jews cool

According to these reports Dutch kids at a school in Leiden are using the word for Jew – ‘Jood’ – to mean ‘cool’. It has been observed by academic linguist Marc van Oostendorp of Leiden University. I’d be interested to know how the usage emerged. Is it based on the same sort of inversion as has changed ‘wicked’ and (so I learned just a few days ago) ‘sick’ into terms of approval? Or is the origin a more neutral or generous one?
