A farm in Africa

The farm in question was called Donga Farm and belonged for a while to my maternal grandfather, Robert Salis. It was near Selukwe, as was (now Shurugwi), not far from Gwelo (now Gweru) in the Midlands of Zimbabwe, as is; and me and my sisters sometimes went there during school holidays. Sue, the oldest, posted this picture of us on Facebook yesterday, and I’m following suit here.

My grandfather Robert is sitting in the chair, and Sue is next to him. Tam, then the youngest (Josh was born later), is on El’s lap, and the other two guys are me and Kenani, a man who worked for our family practically forever. He had helped look after our Mom when she was young. Judging from Tam’s probable age, I would be seven or eight there.
